Frequently Asked Questions
GENERAL TRAVEL QUESTIONS
What is your group size?
We specialize in ultra-small groups of just 4–5 guests.
This size allows us to move safely, adapt to weather, access remote locations, and create a more personal, immersive experience than larger tours can offer.
Are solo travelers welcome?
Absolutely, at least 50% of our guests are solo travelers. Because the group is small, everyone are friends after the first day.
When is the best time to see the Northern Lights?
The aurora is visible in Iceland, Norway, and Greenland from September through April.
Peak months for clear skies and stable conditions are October and late February through March.
We build our itineraries around darkness, weather patterns, and solar activity to give you the best opportunity to experience the aurora.
Do you guarantee Northern Lights sightings?
No responsible operator can guarantee the aurora — it’s a natural phenomenon.
What we can guarantee is that we use the best forecasting tools, expert knowledge of local weather systems, and the flexibility of small groups to give you the strongest possible chance of witnessing the lights.
What level of fitness is required?
Most of our journeys are accessible to travelers with moderate fitness however we cater to all fitness levels.
Activities may include short walks on uneven ground, light hiking, and getting in/out of 4x4 vehicles.
If you have concerns, we’re happy to tailor the experience to your comfort level.
What age groups typically join your tours?
Most guests are in their 30s–70s, with a shared interest in nature, photography, and meaningful travel.
Private bespoke tours can be adapted for families with younger children.

SAFETY & LOGISTICS
How do you handle weather changes?
The Arctic is dynamic.
We monitor weather, cloud coverage, and road conditions continuously, adjusting routes as needed.
Because we travel in small groups, we can respond quickly and safely — something larger tours simply cannot do.
Is winter travel dangerous?
Winter travel in the Arctic requires respect and experience.
Our guides have years of training and field knowledge, and we use vehicles designed for winter conditions.
Safety informs every decision we make, from daily routing to time on the ground.
Do you operate tours in severe weather?
If weather conditions become unsafe, we adjust the plan or delay departure.
Your safety is always the priority.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Just let us know in advance — Iceland and Norway offer excellent options for most dietary needs.
Do you offer private or bespoke trips?
Absolutely.
We design fully custom Arctic itineraries for couples, families, photographers, or private groups of up to 4–6 people.
These trips offer maximum flexibility and personalization.
